USING THE CARD

Where can I use my TCN Card?

Visit www.thecardnetwork.com.au, select your card type and click on Participating Retailers to see where you can use your card.

You can use your gift card Australia wide at any of the participating retailers associated with your card. More retailers are joining us every day!

How do I use my physical card?

Just use it like an eftpos Card!
1. Simply present your card in store at any of the participating retailers and use it against any purchase.
2. Swipe the card through the eftpos terminal. You select “SAVINGS,” enter the PIN on the back of your card and you’re done – just enjoy your purchase!
3. You can check your balance and card expiry date anytime by clicking on the ‘Check Balance’ section on our website.
If the transaction amount exceeds the card’s balance, you will need to pay for the remaining amount on a different card or cash.

How do I use my card once it’s in my mobile wallet?

Just use it like a MasterCard or Visa card you have stored in your mobile wallet!
1. Simply present your card in store at any of the participating retailers and use it against any purchase.
2. Open your digital wallet on your phone and select the card. Hold your mobile close to the eftpos terminal. The terminal should recognise the card and your phone will prompt you to enter your pass code (this is your phone’s pin number). The terminal should process the payment and you will receive a confirmation on your phone “Done– just enjoy your purchase!
3. You can check your balance and card expiry date anytime by checking the TCN App and selecting your card.
If the transaction amount exceeds the card’s balance, you will need to pay for the remaining amount on a different card or cash.

Is the physical card required at the participating retailer to use the card?

If you haven’t added your physical card to your mobile wallet or swapped for a voucher you will need your physical card when shopping at our retailers. It swipes like an eftpos card so must be presented. Photos on your phone are not sufficient sorry.

If you have added your card to your mobile wallet or swapped for a voucher you do not need your physical card any more.

If my transaction is greater than the amount on my gift card, can I pay the rest with cash or credit card?

eftpos: Yes, you sure can.
Online: If you are using Mastercard in your digital wallet most online sites do not accept split payments with credit cards so we recommend either keeping your purchase to your gift card value or swapping out for a voucher.

Do I need to spend my Gift Card all in one transaction or all with one retailer?

No! You can choose how and where you want to spend your card balance. Any remaining balance after your transaction will stay on your card as long as it’s valid for. This way you can enjoy your gift card more than once!

What happens if I do not use the full amount on a TCN Gift Card in one transaction?

Don’t worry, your card is multi-usable, and you can just use it next time! Continue using it until the value of the card has been used up or the card expires. Individual retailers may have minimum eftpos transaction amounts.

I tried to swap my gift card for an e-gift voucher but the transaction failed. Why?

Please check if your Gift Card has a sufficient balance to complete the swap. If the card’s balance is lower than the e-gift voucher amount, the swap will decline. If it has sufficient balance but still declining then please contact us directly so we can assist.

Can you really use TCN Gift Cards at all the retailers the website with the one card?

You sure can! Let the recipient of your gift decide what they want to buy!

What can I buy with TCN Gift Cards?

You can use your gift card towards any purchase at our participating retailers.

Are there any restrictions on when I can use TCN Gift Cards?

There are no restrictions on when you can use your card. TCN Gift Cards are accepted anytime at our participating retailers.

Can I add more money to the value of my TCN Gift Cards?

No. TCN Gift Cards cannot be reloaded.
The amount will remain on the card for next time you choose to use it.

Do I receive change on a TCN Gift Card transaction?

No. But TCN Gift Cards can be used until the balance reaches a nil value. Minimum transaction amounts may apply.

Do TCN Gift Cards expire?

Yes they do, but you have heaps of time to use them. Your card is valid for thirty-six months (36 months) from the date of purchase. If the date is not written on the back of the card it is your responsibility to check your card balance and expiry date on the website.

How do I check my card balance and expiry date?

If you’re using a digital MasterCard you can check your balance and card expiry date anytime by checking the TCN App and selecting your card.

If there are funds still left on my TCN Gift Cards, can I have this in cash?

No. You can only use the card for purchases at our participating retailers.

Can I use TCN Gift Cards to get cash out of the ATM?

No. You can only use the card for purchases at our participating retailers.

Can I redeem my TCN Cards where I purchased them from?

No. TCN gift cards can only be redeemed at the specific participating retailers associated with your card type. Visit www.thecardnetwork.com.au, select your card type and click on Participating Retailers to see where you can use your card.

Are there any fees or costs on TCN Gift Cards?

There are no fees or costs on your card. They are sold for the face value amount and accepted by our participating retailers up to the value on the card.

No. TCN gift cards are only for sale in Coles, Coles Express, Woolworths, Target, BIG W or online at www.thecardnetwork.com.au

Can I buy gift cards in any denomination?

You can buy TCN Gift cards in denominations from $30 to $200 in store depending on the card or you can buy multiple denominations up to $500 on www.thecardnetwork.com.au.

Do TCN cards work if I buy them in say, Brisbane and send it to my mum in Sydney?

They sure do, our cards are national and provide heaps of choice for the recipient and giver. That’s the beauty of The TCN Gift Card range - you can let your friends and family go to the merchant of their choice and use the Card their way!

ISSUES WITH YOUR CARD

Why won’t my SHEIKE gift card number apply at checkout on SHEIKES website?

*Please allow up to 30 minutes from the time of swap for SHEIKE to activate your gift card number. Once activated, it can be applied at checkout.

What can I do if my TCN Gift card gets stolen, lost or damaged?

TCN Gift Cards should be treated like cash and kept in a secure place. We unfortunately cannot replace a lost, stolen, or damaged card under any circumstances. Please see our Terms and Conditions for further details.

What if my TCN Gift Cards is not accepted for payment?

Sorry to hear that. Check out the following reasons your card may not be working:
1. The balance you have nominated is not available. You can check your card balance here.
2. Your gift card has expired. Gift cards have a 36 month expiry, which can be calculated 36 months from the date of issue, and/when you check your balance.
3. The retailer you have tried to use your gift card at is not a participating retailer. You can view participating retailers by clicking on your Card Type on our website and clicking on the Participating Retailers link.
Should your card not work but it has funds, isn’t expired, and you are at a participating retailer please contact us here or call 1300 375 346.

What can I do if I experience issues with a gift card purchased second hand or from an uncertified third-party seller?

Our gift cards are available for purchase from specific retail outlets. We cannot guarantee the validity of any gift card you purchase from any other outlet - including any auction website or discount website who is not listed as one of our retail outlets. Any gift card not purchased from a certified seller may be fake or counterfeit or associated with fraudulent activity. TCN will not be liable to you or any other person for any loss arising from any purchase of our gift cards from an outlet who is not listed as a participating seller.

My favourite retailer is not a Participating Retailer? What can I do?

If you have a retailer or brand that is not with TCN, tell them about us! Retailers can easily make an enquiry on our website and get signed up with us.

PURCHASE PROTECTION

I placed an order and it was declined. What do I do now?

We take security very seriously, and a major part of that is ensuring that orders are placed by the legitimate cardholder.

If your order is declined during the checkout process, it means we were unable to verify your purchase, and it was declined out of caution.

We recommend placing your order again completing all required details – such as phone number, email and billing address – that match the cardholder’s information. We will then re-assess your order.

Will TCN ever ask me for my personal information?

TCN will never ask you for your full credit card number or TFN. However, we may ask for an image of your card detailing the last 4 digits and full name along with photo ID if we need to further verify an order.

I did not make the transaction and neither did anyone that has access to my credit card/payment account. What do I do now?

After confirming that the transaction was unauthorized, we recommend that you contact your credit card company/payment account and inform them that your card has been compromised. Review the latest transactions on your account to ensure there is no other fraudulent activity to report. Your financial institution will likely put a hold on all future purchases from the compromised card/account and issue a new one for future use.
